Questions to Ask Yourself When Trying to Exit Your Timeshare

Questions To Ask Yourself

The moment you decide that you want to get rid of your timeshare, questions start arising about the how and the how much – here are some that you should figure out:

  • The easiest way to get rid of the timeshare – there are several ways to get rid of your timeshare: you can offer it to your developer or to the property management company for a deed-back, you can contact the owners of the time slot right before or right after yours to ask them whether they want to extend their yearly stay at the resort, you can use word of mouth or you can advertise your timeshare on real estate websites, on retail or auction websites and in local media;
  • Figure out the price – the second-hand timeshare market is not a seller’s market right now, the supply far outweighs the demand, so the price that you can get might be very small. If your goal is to get rid of the timeshare to get out of the high and unwanted maintenance fees, you might be fine receiving any offer from a reliable buyer, even if the price is much smaller than the price you have initially paid when you bought the timeshare.  Another option is to seek legal advice from Timeshare Termination Team to determine your rights as an owner, and what you have to gain by selling.
